“…rather than being exciting and full of romance and adventure, I instead found it a little dull.”
~ Under the Covers
Victoria has known since she was nine years old that Lucas Zafar was her life mate and now that she is eighteen she can finally claim the man she loves as her own. But to claim Lucas she has to face not only her own long held fears but help Lucas with his.
Mad dashes to Earth, alien attacks, traitors, not to mention a love story between an ace fighter pilot and a feisty, intelligent doctor. It all sounds rather action packed and thrilling. I just wish that were so, rather than being exciting and full of romance and adventure, I instead found it a little dull.
I also found Victoria…irritating. Maybe it was because she was supposed to be so fantastic at everything, the most intelligent, the most beautiful, brave, kind. All that perfection was too much for me. She never seemed like a real person and it was difficult to like her. As for Lucas, I think Eidem tried for Alpha male, but it never came out for me, he spent so much time thinking about his feelings that he failed to notice when he dropped his man card.
This book was a bit of a disappointment, it was overly long, a bit too melodramatic and I didn’t connect with the characters.
