Review: Timing by Mary Calmes

Stefan Joss is much like all of Mary Calmes’ characters – good-looking, charming and completely likable. When he attends his best friend’s wedding, he is surprised to learn that her brother, Rand will be there as well.

Rand and Stefan have hated each other since the moment Stefan became friends with his sister, Charlotte, but for her special day, they have decided to call a truce, at least for now. However, soon Rand and Stefan soon engage in a budding romance that has its own twists and turns as the million dollar business deal Stefan is responsible for goes wrong.

TIMING is classic Mary Calmes. Brimming with humor, heart and suspense, Calmes kickstarts this series with wonderfully lovable characters and a fabulous romance. As a huge fan of her A Matter of Time series, I found similarities between Stefan and Jory’s character while Rand at first reminded me of Sam as well. Stefan, for me, really lit up the pages. I don’t know what Calmes does with her books, but her heroes are just so…likeable. They ooze charisma and charm and it seems that everyone loves them, making for a book that always has me smiling when I read it. I just find Calmes’ books so addicting!

The touch of cowboy and suspense take this story into another level. I’m such a sucker for gay cowboy stories and TIMING has to be one of my favourites!
