Sandrine Tomasson has had terrible luck in the relationship department. She’s just off a broken engagement when she decides to fly to New Orleans for an interview working as an engineer on a dream project. Leaving Manhattan isn’t in her plans whatsoever, but scoping it out can’t hurt. She’s floored to find former flame, Leonce Decoeur, at the construction site. After meeting during the Hurricaine Katrina aftermath nine years ago, their budding romance ended before it even got off the ground. Truth be told, neither has forgotten the other and their chemistry is off the charts, but these two have a past and present that need to be reconciled before they can be free to give their hearts to each other.
I was excited to see that this next installment in Lyla Bellatas’ Real Fling series was heading to New Orleans. It’s a city I have so much love for and you can tell that Ms. Bellatas feels the same way. Hotter takes us on a tour of some of the most loved places in the city and paints a very accurate picture of its unique atmosphere and amazing people. I really felt for Sandrine as a character, her shock at being thrown headfirst back into a relationship she assumed was buried forever in the past. Leo is a knight in shining armor type. It’s clear he’s loved Sandrine all these years and he pulls out all the stops to make it happen. He’s not afraid to be with a strong and accomplished woman. The sex is hot and heavy from the get-go and that’s one thing I love about this series. We get right to it without beating around the bush. The conflicts are real and ones I think most career women can identify with. We know there’s an HEA coming and I really enjoyed seeing how Sandrine and Leo worked through their conflicts. This is a sweet romance with an erotic edge that I highly recommend for readers who want that warm and fuzzy feeling when they close their Kindle.
