“I’m happy to report that I enjoyed this book just as much[as Melt For You].”.~ Under the Covers
I’m going to be honest, I avoided this book last year when it was up for review last year because of its cover. While it’s sexy, I just didn’t have the appetite for it. I could kick myself for doing that because, I had the chance to read the second book of this series, and I loved it. Obviously, I had to go back and read this too. I’m happy to report that I enjoyed this book just as much.
Burn for you is a food critic and the chef trope and obviously a frenemy to lovers romance. Jackson Boudreaux, a rich, food critique was unimpressed by Chef Bianca and the feeling is mutual. Funny thing is, they have feelings they are not willing to admit quite yet. So, instead of staying clear of each other, they close a business deal that will ensure financial security on both ends.
I enjoyed Jackson and Bianca’s story. I love the denial of their attraction yet they couldn’t stay away from each other. Their romance was a slow burn, but once fired up, they burned pretty hot. I also love how they were determined to follow their dreams. But what I love most is the bourbon and food references in the book. Many times I found myself wanting to try the foods mentioned. Overall, Burn for You was a quick read and a good start to the series. The second book is even better and the third, well, Ache for You is scheduled to release November 6th, 2018. I’m sure it will be just as great.
