I have been waiting for this book since discovering The Mighty Storm(TMS), which totally rocked my world. Weathering the Storm(WTS) did not differ. I was falling all over myself trying to read this book at every opportunity I got. I devoured it and I am still very hungry for more!
Tru and Jake continue their relationship on a serious level. Tru will find out how to love a rock star, and it’s not all fun and games. Let’s face it, loving a rock star, Jake in particular will have its down side. His past is not exactly the most innocent and it will come at tru hard like a freight train.
The first 30% had my heart racing with annoyance. Tru just made some decisions that made matters worse than it really is. Ms. Towle definitely added some angst in the beginning of this book. There will be jealousy and immature games but thankfully Tru and Jake will overcome this hurdle. The angst does level off to become good romance. Ms. Towle did a great job phasing their relationship from an angsty beginning to a solid end.
At about 70%, my heart stopped from the shock of a certain event that surely altered a part of me. I was blown away by it and quickly brought me to tears. It was truly a cover-your-mouth shocking event. This is why I like Ms Towle’s writing. She has the ability to lead you one way and then surprise you with another. Wethering the Storm will have you ride a roller coaster of emotions, I can promise you that.
I want to mention the humor that Ms. Towle put in to this novel. I think being a British author, she can appreciate the difference in language and make good fun of American and British terms. She had me laugh and cry in equal amount of times. Though WTS is not as steamy as TMS, Jake still brought his sexy back to this book. I swear I just cannot get enough of him. I didn’t think it was possible but I fell deeper in love with Jake. Though this is where Tru and Jake’s story end, The Storm Series will not end here. There will be a third book which will focus on Tom and Layla. I have full trust in Ms. Towle that she will deliver another rockin’ story.
