Walking on Air was such a sweet book it left me with a case of the warm fuzzies ~ Under the Covers

For famous gunslinger Gabriel Valance, being shot and killed by a stupid kid isn’t quite the end. He is given a second chance by some meddlesome angels to get himself inside the pearly gates. All he has to do is make the beautiful Nancy Hoffman fall in love with him. However, that may not be easy as it sounds as Nancy is in hiding from both her abusive father and a murder charge and doesn’t trust anyone, least of all a man.

Walking on Air was such a sweet book it left me with a case of the warm fuzzies and it is perfect for snuggling up with on a cold winter’s night. I really enjoyed reading about both Gabe and Nancy’s struggle for love and redemption, it was both heartwarming and even occasionally funny watching them struggle with their own inner demons.

I am partial to the gunslinging cowboy types so I wasn’t surprised when I loved Gabe, it didn’t take much digging to see below his fearsome reputation and witness the good man he was. And I enjoyed watching Nancy soften as she learns to trust and love someone despite her horrifying past. I also that this book had a magical touch with the inclusion of the angels, it made this book seem like a Christmas fairy tale and lent to the feeling of warm fuzzies I had at the end of the book.

This is the first book in the Valance Family series and I cannot wait to read the next one, it dealt with heavy issues like abuse and redemption, but it still managed to be light hearted and fun, I hope it is as warm and inviting as Walking on Air.

  1. I got to read this one too, Suzanne. I loved Gabe and the warm holiday feel to this one as he created a family with Nan.
