ARC Review: Seeking Her by Cora Carmack

If you haven’t read “Finding It” please stop reading now! This is the last in her “Losing It” series and starts right before “Finding It”, and continues through till maybe 30% of that book. This time however, the tale is told in Hunt’s perspective. So basically it’s the story of Hunt’s effed up background (distant father, war trauma, alcoholism, etc.) and how he was paid by her rich Daddy to chase Kelsey around the world and protect her from whatever unknown bad guys that are out there.

I honestly was very disappointed in this book. I absolutely loved every other book in the series, until this one that is. The whole book is him watching her whore around with countless strangers and drink herself into oblivion while silently fighting his inner demons over and over and over again, all the while falling madly in love with her because of course he can see her inner pain (sure cause drunken whores always get their man). It was a struggle to get through this one, and I only finished it (and by finish, I mean I read 54% and then read the last chapter) because I was asked to review it by a good and kind friend who I hope realizes how very much I love her for this <eg>. I think that Cora really should have stopped this series with “Finding It”, and I still don’t understand why she didn’t. I am still a big Cora Carmack fan and always will be, “Faking It” will always be one of my favorite books, but she kinda jumped the shark with this one. 2 very sad and lonely feathers.
