“I loved every minute, every second, every page.” ~Under the Covers

Cat and Bones have been legendary.  They’ve been very much a part of most paranormal readers hearts for the last ten years.  We’ve been through the ups and downs with them, and quite frankly I could read about them forever.  When Jeaniene Frost announced this would be the end of the series, I was both disappointed and happy.  Happy because for once, an author does right by her readers and decides this is where the story should end.  Instead of giving us a filler book and a washed out version of her vision she gave us UP FROM THE GRAVE, which might just be the best possible closure to the Cat and Bones saga!

Bones is as usual a ruthless vampire, protective of his mate.  He truly is prepared to do anything for her and to keep her safe!  You might crush on him a bit more than you were already.  Cat had gotten a bit whiny lately for me but in this book she put her big girl panties on and kicked ass like it was book 1 all over again, adding to that a huge dose of confidence she didn’t have then.  And the rest of the cast had an important presence as well.  I loved every minute, every second, every page.  The chemistry between Cat and Bones has changed so much and come so far.  It was like seeing an old married couple (in a good way!), still very much in love, full of passion and heart.  I loved how comfortable they are with each other and how much they’ve grown, together and apart.

This book was full of surprises!   Once the action kicked into gear, there was no stopping the force with which it moved ahead.  It was riveting and I NEEDED to keep reading every second I could.  Until it hurt to continue.  Until my vision blurred and my heart broke.  This book definitely packs an emotional punch.  And kicks ass all the same, it’s the most action packed I’ve seen the Night Huntress series in a while!

There’s not one thing wrong about this book.  The storyline is unique and interesting.  It brings into play old and new players.  Tying up any lose ends that could be hanging around, and giving us just a taste of what their Ever After will be.  But be warned and prepared, this will probably rip your heart out and stomp on it a bit before putting it back together.  I laughed, I swooned, I cried, then I cried HARD.  UP FROM THE GRAVE will leave you with a bittersweet smile on your face and a sense of satisfaction.  I hate to see them go, but they’re going happy and how they deserved.  Loved by many.  Congratulations Ms. Frost.  This book was better than I ever imagined it could be.

If I could only have one request now would be to see more Ian!
