Under the Covers is extremely excited to bring you our exclusive interview with the Play by Play boys! Well, the new boys in town that is. We had the opportunity to talk to Garrett, Drew and Trevor and pry as much info as we could about Gray. Hope you enjoy it and now help us welcome to UTC these hot, I mean, wonderful guys!
Garrett: Hi
Drew: Hey
Trevor: Hi
Hi guys and welcome to UTC, thanks for sitting down with us and spilling all of Gray’s secrets with the world. Well, you probably won’t spill much because you’re such good friends, but a girl can hope.
Trevor: I’ll tell you whatever you want to know about Gray
Garrett (Nudges Trevor in the ribs.)
Trevor: Ow, dammit. That hurt.
Drew: (laughs)
You know, readers of the series first fell in love with the Riley family and now, much like them, with you guys. That friendship bond and camaraderie is addicting. How did you all meet and end up such a close group of friends?
Drew: We met in college. We got lucky enough—
Trevor: Unlucky, you mean.
Garrett: What Trevor said.
Drew: (Rolling his eyes.) Yeah, whatever. We roomed together in college.
What’s the most shocking thing you’ve each done for Gray?
Drew: I plead the Fifth.
Trevor: I’ve got nothin’
Garrett: There was that time we had to get the money together for bail.
Drew: You do realize he’s going to tell everyone you’re lying.
Garrett (grinning): Yeah, but who’s going to believe him?
I’m sure you’ve all been there for some embarrassing moments in each others lives. What’s one of your best stories about Gray?
Drew: That time he got drunk and sang karaoke. With feeling.
Trevor: (laughing) Yeah, that was a good one. That’s on video somewhere, isn’t it?
Garrett: I’m sure you can find it on YouTube if you look hard enough. It was a bottle of Tequila night, and Gray got so drunk he sang Pretty Woman like he owned it.
Trevor: Yeah, only he can’t sing for shit.
Drew: Hurt my ears for hours after he sang that song.
Garrett: I blame the cute blonde waitress. He was singing it to her.
Drew: I’m sure it hurt her ears, too. And everyone else’s in the bar that night.
Yes, you can admit it. Big, tough guys have feelings and care too. What do you love most about Gray?
Garrett: If you need him, he’s there for you. No matter what it is
Trevor: (nods) Always.
Drew: As much grief as we give him, he’s the man you want on your side when shit goes sideways.
You all had a chance to meet Evelyn. What was your first impression of her?
Garrett: Beautiful
Drew: Hot
Trevor: Sexy. Wish I’d met her first.
We all know that Evelyn and Gray are perfect for each other. Why do you think they make such a great couple?
Drew: Because she’ll never back down. She stands up for herself. I respect a woman like that. So does Gray.
(Trevor and Garrett nod in agreement)
Any chance we can get you to spill who is the guy on the cover of ONE SWEET RIDE? How much do you think he looks like Gray?
Trevor: That IS Gray. He always likes showing off.
Drew: No it’s not. It’s me. Did I mention my fledgling modeling career?
Garrett: Your ass it’s you.
Drew. I didn’t say it was my ass. But those are my abs. (Drew lifts his shirt to prove a point)
(They all laugh)
How do you all feel about seeing your best friends going down quickly with that “love bug” thing?
Garrett: (sighs) It happens. I never thought it would happen to me, but then I met Alicia.
Drew: That’s fine for Garrett and Gray. But it’s not gonna happen to me.
Trevor: Me, either.
Garrett: (laughs at them) Just you wait.
Trevor I have to ask…what do you like most about Haven? *evil grin*
Trevor: (looks around) Wait. What? I thought this was about Gray and Evelyn? What the hell? Haven? Uh….She’s very…smart. And pretty. And…um. What?
Drew: (laughs)
Trevor: Screw you, Drew.
Drew, do you have something you want to admit to us about why you like to annoy Carolina so much?
Trevor: (laughs at Drew) Your turn now.
Drew: (Glares at Trevor, then smiles) Yeah. Because she makes it so easy.
This one is for all of you so I’m expecting individual answers. 🙂 If “Biker Dude” were to be a hero in the next Play by Play book (although we all know part of him is in all of them) which sport do you think he would play?
Garrett: Baseball
Drew: I’d like to say hockey, but I’ve heard he can’t skate for shit.
Trevor: Auto racing. He likes to drive really damn fast.
What’s one thing you would like readers to look forward to in each of your upcoming books. Garrett, you can just pass on this one 😉
Drew: It’s hockey, so of course it’s going to be icy hot.
Trevor: Just try and keep up with me. That’s all I’m gonna say.
And last as a special request from us at UTC….. do you think you can talk Jaci into writing a basketball hero? *wink* Maybe you guys can introduce the right one to her.
Garrett: She always tells us never say never, so who knows?
Drew: I like basketball.
Trevor: Me, too. Maybe I could add basketball to my skill set, too.
Drew: (Rolls his eyes) Give it up, superstar.
Trevor: What? I can do it all, you know.
Garrett: In your dreams, stud.

Gray Preston was born into money, but he’s built his racing empire on hard work and muscle. And now that Gray has millions of fans, his senator father sends one of his aides, Evelyn Hill, to elicit Gray’s help in garnering votes for the upcoming national election. Gray wants nothing to do with his estranged father’s campaign, but Evelyn can be pretty persuasive. She’s willing to learn about racing, and maybe even get a little dirty.
Evelyn’s number-one goal is politics, which makes working with Gray difficult, because his only passion is fast cars. As she and Gray spend time together, he teaches her about the sport he loves, and she learns a lot about the man behind the wheel. The more she learns, the more she wants him. But any desire that threatens to derail the carefully laid plans for her future is a dangerous one.
With the passion Gray and Evelyn share running hotter than either imagined, one of them is going to have to compromise, or else run the risk of losing more than their hearts.

The Play by Play series is one of my all time favorites. Great stories, sexy as hell guys & drool worthy covers! I loved the interview with Garrett, Drew & Trevor. Thank you for having it here. I love hockey players. In my opinion, they are the sexiest of all sports! Seriously. You meet a hockey team in person and tell me you don’t walk away sweating… they’re big, tall, and they KNOW how to clean up nice.
