STAY WITH ME is an enjoyable read with a few heated moments, a few touching ones and a lot of charming ones as well. For a quick read, Armentrout has you covered.” ~ Under the Covers

STAY WITH ME is the third book in the Wait For Me series. J. Lynn has switched back to her old pen name and is going with Jennifer L. Armentrout again. I don’t know if this reflects a change in her writing, but I did notice that Calla comes across as way more young and almost YA-ish in feeling than the other books in the series.

Calla is completely inexperienced about most things in her life. That is even more pronounced and played up with the way Armentrout writes her POV. All the “holy poo” and “Oh golly” were grating on me and as a result, it didn’t reflect her as a young twenty-one year old is wants to explore sex.

Jax is by far the more experienced of the two. He constantly reasurres Calla and teases her, which makes for a fun story, but when the moment when it became hot and heavy, I had to pause because Calla doesn’t seem ready for it. She thinks too young and I almost felt a little protective about her character because this book does get quite steamy.

Armentrout seems to really get in her characters mind. For the most part, they are fun to read. However, I will note that some scenes dragged on for too long and the internal monologue wasn’t really necessary in some cases, especially when describing how hot a guy is and what said hotness can do to Calla’s poor hormone-driven mind.

All in all, STAY WITH ME is an enjoyable read with a few heated moments, a few touching ones and a lot of charming ones as well. For a quick read, Armentrout has you covered.
