“…although it didn’t rock my world, or really offer anything new, that didn’t stop me from enjoying it…” ~ Under the Covers

Shelly MacIsaac has reached 28 with out ever having being kissed and she has lost all hope that she ever will, just like she has given up on ever losing weight. But, maybe she will give it one last chance, the new years resolution she makes with the wine girls is to get into shape, but it is more than Shelly’s body that needs shaping up, it is her self esteem as well. Christian has been working with Shelly for years and has been lusting after her for what seems like forever and he is determined this year to make the shy Shelly notice. However, he didn’t expect was that his childhood friend Lance would also feel the same way…

I have been looking forward to this installment in the Second Chances series, not only do I love a book with a BBW, but it also has a menage romance, win win! And although it didn’t rock my world, or really offer anything new, that didn’t stop me from enjoying it, the characters were likable and the sexercise they engaged in what was hot.

Shelly has massive self esteem issues and I loved seeing her overcome these as the book progressed and she became a more confident woman. A more confident woman with two sexy, but very different men falling in love with her, Lance and Christian were perfect, too perfect I imagine, but they were fantastic book candy and I loved how supportive and encouraging they were with Shelly. I also loved their lovin’ the sex between them was hot (all stricyly concentrated on Shelly, there was no m/m) and clearly the best way to burn off a few calories!

I had fun reading this, it was a fairly short and quick read and although it isn’t something that is truely memorable it was enjoyable and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

About Mari Carr

Writing a book was number one on Mari Carr’s bucket list and on her thirty-fourth birthday, she set out to see that goal achieved. Five years later, her computer is jammed full of stories — novels, novellas, short stories and dead-ends and six of her books have been published.

High school librarian by day and mother of two busy teenagers, Mari Carr found time for writing by squeezing it into the hours between 3 a.m. and daybreak when her family is asleep and the house is quiet.
