“ONLY FOR YOU was a quick read and definitely a page turner!  Great debut and I can’t wait to read more!” ~Under the Covers

ONLY FOR YOU is Genna Rulon’s debut novel and I think she’s done a great job with it!  Yes, it’s New Adult, which is not my genre of choice.  But it doesn’t have the cookie cutter angst that some may expect.  This is just a good story about some college kids who find themselves in a campus where girls are turning up beaten, and soon turning up dead.  But at the core, it’s a romance story.

Hunter and Everleigh are both great characters in their own way, but they make a perfect couple.  Their personalities compliment each other and they are just so much fun to see together.  There isn’t a whole lot of drama with the usual push and pull of not wanting to date someone because they aren’t right for you, or you don’t deserve them, that is often found in this genre lately (at least the ones I seem to pick up!).  Ms. Rulon goes for the sneak attack approach.  Just let them be friends, and things will progress nicely from there.  I thought it was smart to make the heroine believe that Hunter was gay (although, wow way to jump to conclusions!).  But I loved it because her usual barriers and defenses were down and she was able to just be herself.

Another point I enjoyed was the suspense element in the story, which I thought was also done very well.  It wasn’t taking over the plot but it kept things moving along and made the story interesting.  It definitely scaled up the intensity towards the end, and has left the second book with a crazy setup that I can’t wait to get to!

But the thing that stood out the most in this novel was that the author (and by default the characters) came across smart.  That is something that’s missing sometimes for me, and a lot of the dialogue with the “big words” the author was using was actually refreshing!  It put a smile on my face.

ONLY FOR YOU was a quick read and definitely a page turner!  Great debut and I can’t wait to read more!
