In the second book of the Redhead series, Grace is in New York making her Broadway debut and working with old college flame, Michael. All while Jack is back in LA (and traveling all over) to promote the big premiere of TIME. Long distance relationships are hard enough as it is, but an insecure older woman and some nasty paparazzi can make them almost impossible.
I still love Jack. I still like Grace. I still think they have great chemistry together. They drive this series forward well because we want to know more about them and see them together. But where I enjoyed every second of Grace’s frenetic mind in the first book, it started getting on my nerves in this book. For a 30+ woman, she’s not very mature. And as much as she’s tried to work on her insecurities, about her age and the way she looks, she’s still very much that fat insecure girl in her mind. The one that doesn’t deserve the best. The one that shouldn’t be looked at. And the one that doesn’t take criticism well. I can’t wait to see her overcome that crutch.
THE REDHEAD REVEALED was an interesting installment in the series, and one I enjoyed reading. I laughed and panted accordingly at all the good parts. Now I’m ready to get somewhere deeper and see some growth. And maybe this is just me, but I would like it better if the characters aren’t trying so hard to be funny and quirky all the time.
