Review: Fixed On You by Laurelin Paige

I’m claiming Hudson for my harem before anyone else can and will be devouring the next books in the series. Thank God I found this series because Laurelin Paige has gotten a new fan out of me. ~ Under the Covers

This series caught my eye for several reasons. One, the covers are absolutely gorgeous! And two, the hero’s name just screamed SEXY to me. Hudson Pierce sounded like he would be a dream and what do you know, he is!!!

I’ve read a lot of books so it’s rare for me to come across something that is different. Alyana has a bit of a problem with things like stalking and restraining orders. No, no, wait!  Don’t run of yet! She isn’t completely crazy, but she does have her issues she needs to sort out. You see, Alayna loves obsessively. She cares too much and she loves too much. For some, that’s a bit scary. But Hudson doesn’t focus on her flaws, but sees Alayna for who she is.

This concept was intriguing for me. Alayna doesn’t come across as psycho or annoying and I think that really has to do with Paige’s writing style. She could have so easily made Alayna an over the top character, but I found that I actually enjoyed a lot of her scenes.

Hudson Pierce, however, stole the show for me. He came in and I absolutely melted on the ground into a puddle of goo. He is just sex personified. When he becomes the new owner of the club that Alayna works at, he discovers that she is the perfect person to carry out the plan that involves his engagement with his friend who deserves better than him.

Hudson isn’t the type of person to love. Sex is the only thing you will get. So while his mother has promised him to her best friend’s daughter, Hudson knows that he would never willingly impose himself on her and make her miss out on true love. He devises this plan involving Alayna. He will pay her to pretend to be his girlfriend to convince his mother that they are in love and the engagement will be off. So Alayna gets some new designer clothes, a driver, and gets to have sex with Hudson – I think that’s the best deal a girl could ask for!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, mainly because I was just looking for a sexy read between my review books. But now that I am hooked, I’m claiming Hudson for my harem before anyone else can and will be devouring the next books in the series. Thank God I found this series because Laurelin Paige has gotten a new fan out of me.
