I doubt I will be continuing the series. There was too much that didnโ€™t work for me. However, if youโ€™re in the mood for a quickie read with a dash of BDSM, then this one is something that may work for you. ~ Under the Covers

Dom Wars was a book that was highly recommended to me on our Facebook page so I jumped at the chance at reading it. Now, this is quite the unusal book. First of all, the premise will either intrigue you or repulse you. I think I experienced a little bit of both.

The idea is that there is this reality TV style show called Dom Wars where Lucian Bane goes to try to be the top dom. Why? I havenโ€™t the slightest clue but I was intrigued by the idea regardless. However upon starting the book, I was hit by a lot of confusion. First of all, Lucianโ€™s narration sounds very different than what I thought it would be. It couldnโ€™t tell if it was a girl or guy a lot of the times and Tara seemed a little unsure at times as well.

While the sex isnโ€™t bad, I found that the way the book was carried out was too out there for me. I had to suspend a lot of belief and I think that kind of ruined the experience for me a little bit. I thought it was kinda cute how Tara was so inexperienced and got her instructions from a BDSM manual on her e-reader, but again, because of that, it made dealing with the hardcore aspects of BDSM seem farfetched since she was virtually clueless right before.

I doubt I will be continuing the series. There was too much that didnโ€™t work for me. However, if youโ€™re in the mood for a quickie read with a dash of BDSM, then this one is something that may work for you.

  1. I am so glad that someone read this the same way that I did. After I read it I went and looked at the reviews and was surprised and thought, well maybe I should read it again because I obviously missed something.

  2. Glad I’m not the only one that wasn’t swooning over it. Every review loved it and gave it five stars. I had a hard time with how fast they fell in love, I mean come on three days. I also agree with your comment about Tara and her ability to just go along with everything. The story was also lacking more in-depth story on the characters. I have only read the first one but I think that is enough for me.

    1. Ohhh, i feel the same way, Bobbi. I know the book isn’t particularly long or anything like that. But it still felt quite rushed in terms of the romance. And I’m happy you feel the same way with Tara as I did. I thought I was the only one!
