It seems like I’ve been hearing about this author since forever, but I’ve been intimidated to start her Troubleshooters series because it’s already so many books in.ย So when I saw this brand new series by her I was very excited to give this a try.ย Now I just have mixed feelings and I don’t think they are about the author herself but they have more to do with the structure of this book.ย Let me explain.
The plot and world building are very interesting!ย I was immediately intrigued by the fact that there are humans with advanced abilities that they have trained and developed but the basis of being able to do that is the fact that they were “Greater Than”.ย They are born with a capability to fully use their potential and by training they can have a higher integration and access more of their powers.ย I loved this whole concept.
Of course we have the military type organization of greater than humans that try to get rid of the undesirable elements.ย Now they have the task of rescuing a group of girls (one in particular) who have been kidnapped and are being drained of their powers.ย Everything from mind-reading, shared pleasure, dream-walking, mind control, emotion projection, and more!
Here’s where my complain comes in.ย I can’t tell you if there was a hero and heroine in this story.ย The point of view jumped around between so many people I might’ve gotten whiplash from the changes and I wasn’t really trulyย able to connect with any of them.ย Did I like them?ย Yes! All the characters are likeable and as I was starting to care about their story I felt the fact that we actually dealt with THREE couples and we got into all 6 people’s heads really messed up my enjoyment.ย If I had to pick a favorite I would go with Stephen Diaz and Elliot!ย Yes, there is an m/m couple and yes they were my favorite!

I can’t wait to read this book and learn more about Stephen and Elliot. Thanks for the great review.
Francesca like you I’ve heard lots about this author and I’ve also been too intimidated by the number of troubleshooter books to start that series…this new series sounds good-thanks for the great review!
Hi Francesca, totally agree with your review, mine is up on Goodreads. I’m glad someone else felt the same, thanks! I haven’t read the TS series, but I have heard good things, so I may try, but the number of books is intimidating!
Thanks ladies! Hope you enjoy this book when you get to read it.
@Laurie, I’ll go look up your review after. Glad someone else felt the same, it was just a bit much. But I really wanted to like it because it’s all so interesting and had so much potential.

Hi Francesca, I think you said what I was feeling better than I did! LOL!
@Laurie <3 ;)

Even though I totally prefer a book only being about one couple, this still sounds really good! And I’ve been meaning to read m/m for ages.
This would be a light intro to m/m I think
