UnBeautifully-Coverblog

Hi Madeline and congratulations on the release of the highly anticipated UNBEAUTIFULLY.

Thank you!

Before we talk about Ripper and Danny’s story, lets just give a little glimpse to readers about the person behind the books.ย  Tell us 5 things about yourself that people don’t know and might shock us.

Hmmmโ€ฆ.Not sure I want to make my โ€œshockingโ€ incidents public. LOL

  • I was a hot mess growing up; kicked out all the time, ran away at sixteen, had my own apartment with my older boyfriend at seventeen and actually spent some time living/squatting in an abandoned house with a couple of other โ€œlost soulsโ€.
  • I used to throw some pretty wild parties. I remember one incident where my phone rang at 4AM and my neighbor not so nicely asked me to remove the naked and crying man from her front yard.
  • I have a tendency to speak my mind.ย  Which landed me in handcuffs, the back of a police car and a jail cell, when I was twenty three.ย  I stopped speaking my mind to police officers after that. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • I love Beef Jerky.ย  Iโ€™m not sure thatโ€™s shocking, but most people find it strange. Ha.

I’ve seen this before and I just thought it was the sweetest HEA I’ve heard of, so do you mind sharing with our readers how you ended up with your real life HEA?

Of course!ย  Itโ€™s one of my very favorite stories!!ย  I was sixteen, kicked out my house (as per usual) for being…a free spirit (LOL) and bumming around wherever I ended up. I don’t recommend this, mainly b/c getting into cars, or going to parties, or shacking up with random strangers doesn’t come with a safety guarantee, so please enter at your own risk…
…and it was at a party, around 4AM, no later than that b/c the sun was cresting on the horizon, people were passed out everywhere and I wasn’t drunk anymore. Maybe I was but I didn’t feel drunk anymore and this upset me…
*Enter husband to be*
And there he stood, in the entrance way to the living room of a repossessed house, 21 years old, holding a bottle of Gin, wearing a Ranger’s Baseball Cap with the “R” and โ€œSโ€ removed. Yes, his nickname was/is “Anger”.
He said, as he looked around at the numerous bodies, “I guess I missed the party.”
And me, being me, ran up to him, threw my arms around his middle and yelled, “I LOVE YOU, YOU BROUGHT ALCOHOL!”
We hung out for the next few years…lost touch…and when I twenty four…
We ran into each other again at Suicide Machine’s concert. He was drunk, I was drunk and we ended up making out in the girl’s bathroom.
We got married the summer after I turned twenty seven.
I’m going to be thirty two in May and can proudly say I’ve known my husband since I was sixteen years old. Who cares that I dated a variety of douche bags in between our encounters…
Because how many people can say that the very first thing they ever said to their husband was, “I love you”?
So, yeah, we rock.

OK we love you but now we have to talk about the story.ย  UNBEAUTIFULLY brings us back to the MC and to the very damaged Ripper.ย  I’m sure this was a hard story to tell.ย  Do you have a scene or a part that was especially hard or emotional for you to write?ย  Care to share a bit of that with us?

Ripper had flashbacks of what happened to him at the hands of โ€œCrazyโ€ Frankie, and those were hard to write.ย  Iโ€™m emotionally attached to all my characters and while writing them can almost feel their pain.

Why do you think Ripper and Danny are perfect for each other?

Theyโ€™re both lost souls, both damaged (in their own ways) but they come together at time where they needed someone the most.ย  I donโ€™t believe they are โ€œperfectโ€ together but their love for each other is perfect.

We won’t ask you to tell us what to expect from their story because it’s better not to spoil anyone, but for readers who haven’t read UNDENIABLE yet, can you tell them what they could expect from that book…in a tweet length answer?

Undeniable is gritty. Itโ€™s crude. But underneath it all itโ€™s a love story.

unbeautifully

Warning: This is not a story about fate or destiny. This is a story about pain, sorrow, and suffering. This is an impulsive whirlwind romance between two lovers that are not meant to be together. Theirs is not a world with sunshine and roses. Instead, their love blossoms in a secret world full of crime, violence, and death. Their story is about what can be born from nightmares.

Danielle โ€œDannyโ€ West is the daughter of Deuce West, President of the Hellโ€™s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. A sweet and beautiful girl, she loses her way, searching for things that are always out of her reach. Erik โ€œRipperโ€ Jacobs is the Sergeant of Arms in the Hellโ€™s Horsemen. Once a man who always had a smile on his face, his life takes a turn for the worst when a tragedy befalls him, leaving him scarred and broken. During a midsummer night, Danny and Ripperโ€™s paths cross, forever changing their lives. Hastily, their lust turns to love until another tragedy forces them apart. On a journey that is marred with ugliness and chaos, Danny and Ripper must discover if their unforeseen connection can find the beauty in their world.

This is Danny and Ripperโ€™s story.

Everything has beauty. Even the ugly. Especially the ugly.
Because without ugly, there would be no beauty.

EXCERPT:

The first time I fell in love it was with a pair of blue eyes and a wide dimpled grin.

โ€œYour old man loves ya, Danny girl,โ€ He whispered. โ€œYou never ever forget that, yeah?โ€

I never did. And I never thought I could ever love any man as much as I loved my father. But as we grow, we change, we begin to make our own decisions and thus become independent and self sufficient and start turning away from our parents and turning to others. We form friendships, strong bonds and ties and begin experiencing life outside of the bubble we grew up inside of.

And we fall in loveโ€ฆa second time.

The second time I fell in love it was with a badly scarred face, the stuff of nightmares; the sort of disfigurement that mothers steer their children away from. Ugly, jagged slashes marred the skin from the top of his skull, down over his right eye, an eye that had been dug out of his face with a serrated blade. The scars continued across his cheek, over his lips and down his neck, ending at the top of his shoulder. His chest was a hundred times worse; scar tissue as far as the eye could see.

โ€œBaby,โ€ He said gruffly, โ€œMan like me got no business with a girl like you. Youโ€™re nothinโ€™ but fuckinโ€™ beauty and Iโ€™m a whole lot of fuckinโ€™ ugly whoโ€™s already halfway to hell.โ€

But he was wrong.

Everything has beauty. Even the ugly. Especially the ugly.

Because without ugly there would be no beauty.

Because without beauty we would not survive our pain, our sorrow, and our suffering.

And in the world I lived in, the world he lived in, a secret world within the world, a world of of constant crime and cruel, cold, death, there was almost nothing but suffering.

โ€œYou may not be beautiful the way you were before,โ€ I whispered, placing my hand on his hard chest. โ€œBut youโ€™re still beautiful. To me.

  4. Congrats on the new release. Can’t wait to read Danny and Ripper’s story. Thanks for the giveaway and for sharing your story.

  5. I’ve read some reviews on Madeline’s work which mentioned how dark the stories were and how they agreed they were not love stories or romance. Having learned a bit more about Madeline’s life, I think as a reader I would understand her work a lot more.

  6. Love love love these stories!!! Gritty and REAL – they suck you in and won’t let you go ’til the end!!!

  7. If you have not read these books first of all you are missing out on some of the most emotional, raw, soul racking stories I’ve ever wrapped my fingers around. And second, why the hell not?! What have you been reading?? These stories will excite your imagination, rip at your soul, bring tears to your eyes, make you fall in love with a VERY bad boy, and slap yo ass and call you Nancy before you’re anywhere near being done! I tend to speak my mind also, and Madeline’s writings reveal that type of character(s). Maybe that’s why I’m so in love with her!! โ™ฅ (hhhmmmmm…..I’ll have to give that some more thought). But I’ll reel it in now. You owe it to yourself to get both of these and be ready for a ride like you haven’t had before!! Congrats on all your success Mad, Deuce’s babes are proud of you (kiss! kiss!) โ™ฅ

  8. Madeline Sheehan is a super author genius! I have no idea HOW she does what she does…getting us to absolutely fall in love with the unlikeliest characters…but she does! Props to her! Love her books! Thanks for the great giveaway!!

  9. I bought Undeniable last week, but haven’t gotten to it quite yet. I’m really excited about it, though! Thanks for the chance to win Unbeautifully!

  10. I love that this new one is a Beauty and Beast-type story. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  11. LOVE the glimpse of the person behind the books! You are one cool chic! Thanks for sharing apart of your story!

  12. I was never arrested but I could see myself being angry enough to mouth off to a cop. Sometimes they really piss me off. As to being arrested and placed in the back of a police car, I would feel claustrophobic!

Please enter me in your giveaway. Thank you.

  17. Love the interview. It was really awesome. Thanks for such wonderful books. I was not into this genre until I read one of Madeline’s books and now love them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck everyone.

  18. Love your post. I don’t think many people would be able to say the first words they said to their spouse were I love you (even if it was b/c they brought alcohol, lol). Nice that you all ended up together years later ๐Ÿ™‚
Congrats on the release. Sounds great!

  19. I just am crazy over your books. The characters have so much depth and excitement to them. I loved the last 2 books and cannot wait to the next edition is out. sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com

I have read both of these stories and they were definitely different from anything that I have ever read. They were amazing in their own way, dark, gritty, unrelenting. It is not for the faint of heart. I really got caught up in their struggles. I am anxiously awaiting the next one!!
Thank you so much for sharing your stories!

  21. Wow! I really can’t wait to read this! Adding it to my TBR list!! I always wonder if the author has any life experience that they put into their books? Thanks for sharing with us and Thanks for the giveaway!

    Thanks for writing awesome stories!!

  23. The Undeniable series sound like a great emotionally intense read. I’m really looking forward to reading it. Madeline, your life also sounds like the makings for a great book series. Have you ever though of turning it into one, changing the names in the books of course, or are any of your characters based on people who you have come across?
