“Emma Chase manages to win me over and leave me with a smile every time!”
~ Under the Covers

There’s something endearing and extremely sweet about the stories in this series.  Emma Chase manages to win me over and leave me with a smile every time!

GETTING PLAYED is about a one night stand that turns into more.  Our hero is the drummer of a band who really only performs during summer break.  His real life is more about being a math teacher.  He’s left his bad boy, playboy past behind and realizes how his behavior then hurt women.  After a one night stand with the heroine, and not exchanging information, he can’t get her out of his mind.  Little does he know she’s actually moved into his town and her teenage son is actually one of his students.  And even less that she’s expecting his baby!

Talk about one sweet ride.  Dean and Lainey’s story was overflowing with chemistry.  This was fast paced and addictive.  It was fun but at the same time more serious.  I loved seeing Lainey’s relationship with her son and the bond they share.  And then to see Dean come into that dynamic.  While I was expecting to read about a bad boy, Dean was that solid, sweet guy.  I couldn’t have been happier.

There’s not a lot of conflict in this story but that didn’t make this feel any less exciting.  It’s a shorter and faster paced read that kept me listening and smiling.  What more could I ask for?  Emma Chase does it again!  I can’t wait to see what she’ll release next.

  1. Conflict isn’t always necessary especially with a story like this, which is immediately being added to my summer tbr!
