“It’s fresh, unique, packed with action, keeps you on your toes and yes, it’s a little sexy as well.  It’s the perfect combination and if you are not reading it, you’re missing out!” ~Under the Covers

I have a fascination with this series.  It’s fresh, unique, packed with action, keeps you on your toes and yes, it’s a little sexy as well.  It’s the perfect combination and if you are not reading it, you’re missing out!

OATH BOUND is finally bringing some conclusion to a long awaited battle.  Even though Jake Tower is dead, that doesn’t mean the Tower Syndicate has collapsed.  Our favorite band of good guys is working to break the bindings of Tower employees and bring the Syndicate down, but in the process Kenley gets kidnapped.

In the meantime, Sera Brandt, the girl in the yellow scarf, comes to the Syndicate.  Unknown to everyone, Jake Tower had a daughter who has stayed away from the Syndicate until her family is brutally killed.  Now she’s looking for revenge and who better to help her with that than the Syndicate.  So she makes use of the Tower name that she never thought she would associate with.  But turns out Jake has left all his bindings to his oldest offspring.  Could that be her?  Could she now have total control over the Syndicate?  And there will be a few people that wouldn’t want to let that happen.

Enter Kris Daniels to the rescue.  While he storms into Julia Towers’ office looking for his kidnapped sister, he ends up saving Sera.   And so they start a process of working together but not really trusting each other.  A process of lies because she could never tell him she’s the daughter of the man he despised for so long.

This was a great book with a great story, even if I still have to say I loved book two best in the series.  Sera managed to be kick ass in her own way, even when she didn’t know much about herself and her abilities.  She was fierce enough to learn on the fly while working to achieve her own goals, as well as some team work.

As far as the world….all hell broke loose and yes the Tower Syndicate collapsed.  And it wasn’t easy or immediate.  Ms. Vincent did a great job at making it believable in a world where bindings and special abilities can tip the scales in the wrong direction easily.  The good guys fought, and fought well.

As a couple, Kris and Sera were perfect for each other.  They both have issues and some deep, dark secrets.  Because as the story unfolds you see how damaged they both truly are and the potential for healing there is in them being together.

Although Kris and Sera won’t be my favorite couple, OATH BOUND is definitely not the be missed.  A fast paced urban fantasy with a dash of romance that just makes this book hover the line between genres.  I have to admit when the author mentioned this was the end….I gasped.  How can this be?  The Tower Syndicate might have fallen but there’s more work to be done!  But unless she changes her mind in the near future, this will be it for this series.  I’ll miss it!
