ARC Review + Giveaway: Take Me Home by Inez Kelley

If you’re familiar with Kelley’s writing, you know that she is able to create such great chemistry between her characters. It’s often sexy, flirty and fun and though there isn’t too much angst in this book, there is a lot of heart. ~ Under the Covers

TAKE ME HOME is the first in a brand new series by Inez Kelley. What striked me as interesting when I first heard about this book was the unique setting this book is in. It revolves around a logging manager and the owner of Mountain Speciality Spices in the Appalachian Mountains. The first thing that came to mind was SEXY, BEARDED LUMBERJACKS! So I just had to read this book!

And I’m glad I did because not only did I finish this book in a day, but I also got a lot of entertainment out of reading it. If you’re familiar with Kelley’s writing, you know that she is able to create such great chemistry between her characters. It’s often sexy, flirty and fun and though there isn’t too much angst in this book, there is a lot of heart.

Matt and Kayla have an immediate attraction to one another and it’s one of my favourite things about this book. The chemistry is really well-explored and interesting. Matt shares a special past with the land that Kayla now owns and though he doesn’t share that fact with her, Kayla is intuitive enough to recognize that Matt is hiding something. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book. It kept me glued and wondering what Kayla’s reaction would be to Matt’s withheld secrets, especially since she shared that she’d been used in the past.

In addition to that, Kelley also creates a familial comfort around Matt’s character with his sister and her child. Their presence is so heartwarming and adorable, that it only adds a charming quality to this fantastic book.
