“As expected, I enjoyed the book, I don’t think Kleypas is capable of writing something Iย won’t like”

We finally get the last single Travis sibling, Joe’s book! Although this isn’t something I have personally been pining for I still couldn’t wait to read it, it is Lisa Kleypas after all. Up and coming wedding planner Avery Crosslin doesn’t believe in love, especially love at first sight, at least not for her; however, Joe Travis seems to be challenging her belief.
As expected, I enjoyed the book, I don’t think Kleypas is capable of writing something Iย won’t like, her writing was fantastic and her characters were likable; what she has created is a light-hearted and sweet romance. But, this book lacked the intensity and impact the other books in the Travis series were packing. I will never forget Hardy and Haven; Jack and Ella and even Liberty and Gage, each story grabbed me and churned the emotions out of me. Brown-Eyed Girl lacked that same intensity of emotion and connection and instead of a captivating read it was just a nice one.
But, in a market saturated with mediocre releases, this definitely shines, Lisa Kleypas seemingly effortlessly producing a quality book perfect for relaxing with.

I’ve only read her historical romances but I’ve enjoyed them very much
Although I think her historicals are better, her writing is still so amazing in contemporary. Blue Eyed Devil and Dream Lake are some of my FAVORITE of her contemporaries, and by that I mean amazing. This is a great series, you should give it a shot! ~ Francesca
Like Elizabeth, I’ve only read LK historical books. But I’ve been hearing about this LK contemporary series for some time that in the future, I plan to read it. My TBR list is long, so it will be a while before I get to it.
Isn’t that all of our problems? Hope you finally get to give it a shot at some point! ๐
