It should come as no surprise that this book was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020. And what a way to kick off 2020, am I right? Jeaniene Frost continues to deliver some of the strongest books in the genre. I love her blend of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. We get all the thrills and action of an urban fantasy, with fantastic world building, but also an extremely sexy and strong romance.
This book picks up exactly where SHADES OF WICKED left off. I will say you should be reading these books in order, but more than that I think you should read the series in order. Why, you may ask? This series is a spin off and the main plot point was one that was left hanging from the Night Prince series. So if you want to get the full enjoyment and effect of this world, that’s what I suggest. But in particular with these two.
That being said, Shades of Wicked had left me on such a high and had me holding my breath for most of the book that I had some high expectations going into this book. WICKED BITE was a great book with pulse pounding suspense, action, danger. Ian and Veritas brought ALL.THE.SEXY.TIMES! But I still think that book 1 was slightly better. However, there’s no such thing as a bad book from this author. And Ian had some of the best and funniest one-liners.
If there’s one thing for sure with this spin off is that you’ll be laughing your ass off, have some hot flashes and increase your heart rate. I can’t wait for the next installment!
