“I’m glad Calmes decided to come back to this series after all these years.”
~ Under the Covers
First off, I had no idea that Mary Calmes was going to writing more stories in this series so when I saw this book, I snatched it up right away. I’m a big fan of Mary Calmes’ writing style because she instantly makes you fall in love with every one of her characters. I don’t know how she does it, but she always does such a good job with her characterization. Although this book is set in Timing, this book actually features Glenn Holloway and not the main couple of the previous books. While I was a tad disappointed about learning this in the beginning, it was quickly overshadowed by how much I liked Glenn.
Glenn is a very good man. He’s made his own success and although he can be a tad intimidating sometimes, he is a great guy. Mac, to my surprise, is the guy he ends up with. I was a little bit surprised at first, but I just rolled with it. I really liked them together but the only thing I would say is that this book kind of put the romance in the back seat. I really felt like this was Glenn’s book as opposed to a Glenn and Mac book. I don’t know if that’s because it’s a shorter story and the author didn’t have enough time to explore all aspects of their relationship, but I would’ve loved to have read more of them together. Nevertheless, I’m glad Calmes decided to come back to this series after all these years.
