War of Hearts by S. Young Book Review

I’m seriously loving all the paranormal romance releases that I’ve been seeing starting to pop up more and more in the past year or two.  And it’s so interesting to see authors that have never written the genre, try their hand at it.  I’ve had WAR OF HEARTS by S. Young on my TBR since it came out last year because I’m obsessed with shifter stories and reading about the last werewolf pack of Scotland sounded like so much fun.

war of hearts by s young book review

WAR OF HEARTS by S. Young had so many things that were great about it.  First, the writing kept me hooked!  Second, the characters were seriously badass.  And third, the chemistry between them was bursting off the pages.  Basically, I didn’t want to put this book down.  It was one addictive read.

I’m a sucker for a strong heroine and there was so much grit and determination about Thea.  She’s certainly the perfect Alpha female for Conall.  The pacing for the romance was excellent, without downplaying how trust should build between them.  It’s one of the better fated mates stories I’ve read in a while.

That being said, as a long time reader of PNR, some things were pretty obvious and easy to figure out but were made into big mysteries.  I won’t go into detail here because I don’t want to spoil anything.  But that aside, WAR OF HEARTS by S. Young had a little o everything to keep you engaged.  Mystery, romance, action.  It’s introduced me to a set of characters that I want to know more about.  I love this pack and everything about this world that we got to see in this book.  I’m certainly anxious to read more.

I think this book would be a great place to start for someone that hasn’t read this genre and at the same time an enjoyable book for a long time PNR lover.

About the True Immortality Series by S. Young

S. Young’s True Immortality series takes the familiar beats of paranormal romance (fae, shifters, fated mates, supernatural politics) and builds a world that feels bigger with each book. These stories thread together through shared characters and rising magical tension, but each one delivers its own fierce couple, messy stakes, and emotional payoff. And yes, they can be read as standalones. S. Young is the paranormal pen name of Samantha Young.
