ARC Review: The Trouble with Twelfth Grave by Darynda Jones

Recommended Read!

“Darynda delivered another installment thatโ€™s packed with humor, mystery, and emotions that will leave you in awe.”
~ Under the Covers

In this installment, Grim Reaper/Investigator, Charley Davidson is looking for the person responsible for attacking humans sensitive to the supernatural world. A hard task if they canโ€™t get any clues, much less see anyone in the security cameras. Charley is also tackling the return of her husband Reyes, AKA the son of Satan. Heโ€™s badder, sexier, and, stronger but certainly not the same. The ante is up and Charley is left with little choice but to make hardest decision she will ever make.

Iโ€™m going to be honest, when I first received the ARC for this book, I thought it was too short and I was afraid it will not have the same impact as the previous books. I shouldโ€™ve known better though. Darynda delivered another installment thatโ€™s packed with humor, mystery, and emotions that will leave you in awe. I promise you, by the end of this book, youโ€™ll be left with your mouth open. And with that said, a fair warning, there is a bit of a cliffhanger that will make you rethink if you like this book or not. I had to step back from my emotions and assess my opinion of this whole book not just the ending. LOL. But alas, I realize not liking a cliffhanger is not an accurate rating of the entire book. I donโ€™t have any complaints. I loved every page!

If you havenโ€™t read this series yet, I would like to just ask โ€œwhy the hell not?โ€ If you like Urban Fantasy, I would really urge you to do so. This series has funny characters, mystery, suspense, sexy hero, and an amazing heroine. You won’t be disappointed.

  1. This was BY FAR the best book in the series. I LOVED it! There was so much going on in this book and even though **SPOILER** there wasn’t a lot of Reyes scenes per say, his story line was pivotal! I thought Darynda was freaking brilliant with how she spun this story and the cliffie at the end made me wanna hug/strangle her in the most loving way, lol. I really hate to see this series come to an end with the next (and last) book.

  3. LOL, great push to read these. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve enjoyed them for a few years now and each installment just pulls me right back into the world. Sorta sad there is only one more, but also excited to see what comes after that ending.
