Review: The Perfect Game by J. Sterling
“But we all love seeing a bad boy fall hard for a girl and change his ways and Jack did just that. ” ~Under the Covers
I’ve had this book on my Kindle app for months now, so I decided to do pick this up on a whim after finishing up an erotic read to give myself a quick mental scrub. I love sports romances but I do have some problems with the immature characters on some new adult books.
And that’s a bit of what happened with me here. This story started out with great potential but then some things started getting to me. Yeah, mainly the heroine, Cassie. She was just my type of girl at the very beginning, spunky and feisty, and even though she was drooling for the ho jock chasing after her she stood her ground and didn’t give in because of his bad boy reputation. But then she would do something that showed a complete lack of common sense and just made me want to pull my hair out!
But we all love seeing a bad boy fall hard for a girl and change his ways and Jack did just that. Although I don’t personally love the instant change, I do love the fact that he didn’t fight his feelings for Cassie. He knew he wanted her and needed her and he went for it. And yeah, he made mistakes but at the end of the day he showed his love for Cassie every step of the way. I know some people consider Jack a jerk, but I think he’s a sweetheart, a bit lost but he’s a good guy.
You know me with my OCD, after the rollercoaster events at the end of this book, I have to continue reading the series and find out what happens next. I’m hoping that after all that’s happened, Cassie has been able to grow a bit and Jack will find that security to just be and enjoy.
