“This was an all-nighter read for me. ย I thought I would just start this up at 10pm for a bit before I went to bed and I was compelled to read more until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning.”
~ Under the Covers

Wow! ย I am pleasantly shocked at how much I enjoyed this. ย Why shocked? ย Because it tests my comfort levels to deal with all this emotional tangled mess. ย There are a lot of blurred lines here and I would normally throw this out the window because I can’t take it but it’s a testament to a great author that instead of doing that I’m drawn and compelled to know how this will end. ย And I honestly don’t know what outcome I prefer.

So if you’ve read the first book you know the arrangement between Gabe/Mirella and Weston/Bridgette had come to an end because feelings were starting to get involved. ย But it was abrupt and too many things were left open. ย When Weston reaches out and pushes (mighty hard) for a new arrangement, I was both thrilled and heartbroken. ย I wanted to see these two couples heal from what they’d done but I also wanted to explore this new side of Weston that we were glimpsing.

And that is exactly what THE GROUND RULES REWRITTEN is about. ย Yes, the arrangement is back, but this was so different than the first. ย If anything, it’s only left me more torn about the whole situation. ย My emotions were a mess! ย This is told again from Mirella’s POV and we get to see more of her interactions with her husband as well as with Weston. ย Let me just say this. ย Both Gabe and Weston are amazing and Mirella has off the charts chemistry with both. ย The sex scenes were killer and then when you get the jealousy involved and maybe let one watch…. *dies*

This was an all-nighter read for me. ย I thought I would just start this up at 10pm for a bit before I went to bed and I was compelled to read more until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning. ย It was unputdownable. ย Yeah, I made that word up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I must warn you this ends in a cliffhanger… and it leaves me DYING for the next book!

EXCERPT

Just Plain Dirty โ€“ Mirella and Gabe

He catches me staring and shoots me a playful smile. He knows exactly what Iโ€™m thinking. I walk over to the bedroom door and lock it โ€“ which is basically code for โ€˜letโ€™s fuckโ€ฆvery quietlyโ€™.

He turns off the TV and slides to the edge of the bed, pulling me to him. โ€œTell me you didnโ€™t fuck him.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t. I wouldnโ€™t do that to you.โ€

He slides a hand under my tweed skirt. โ€œBut you wanted to. You wanted him.โ€

I grab his face and stare into his beautiful eyes. Words escape me.

He toys with my panties and presses his fingers against the cotton. I close my eyes. Iโ€™m already so aroused, and heโ€™s barely touched me.

He teases. His stare is intense as he studies me intently โ€“ as if heโ€™s trying to break through, to read my thoughts. He pulls at my panties, not taking his gaze off my face. I anticipate his next move. I want him so badly.

โ€œTake them off,โ€ I practically beg.

His smile is playful when he obliges. He doesnโ€™t take his eyes off mine as he slides the cotton briefs slowly down my legs and over my feet. He kisses my knee, a soft peck.

His warm hand travels up the inside of my thigh. My breath catches when he reaches my sweet spot. He glides his fingers against my sex and I whimper at the sensation. His touch is so amazing.

His eyes close. A whisper of a growl escapes his mouth. โ€œYouโ€™re so fucking wet, you dirty girl.โ€

      1. LOL I’m normally not a fan either. I guess the way this book is set up (with it being an agreed swap) the author is able to help me let go of some of my misgivings. I am however, not happy about the wait after the doozy of an ending. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. I read book one because I was completely taken in by the blurb. I knew I would be taken right out of my comfort zone, but I could not help but keep reading. I like your use of the word compelled. Perfect! I was totally ok with how it ended and would have been fine if that had been the end of it. But the author, very smartly I might add, put in a teaser for book 2 and had me completely confused and intrigued. I have not read this one yet, but I will be. I’m more excited now having read your review.
