Lets start off by being honest here.  I struggled with picking this book up because I haven’t had much interest in reading Ms. Hunting the past years.  Although I really enjoyed Clipped Wings, I didn’t feel any pull to read some of her more recent rom coms based on reviews the past few years.  But then, look at this cover.  It was so hard to resist and I kept hearing that it was soooo good.  So I caved.  And honestly, I’m so glad that I did.

THE GOOD LUCK CHARM is an endearing and sweet story of second chance love.  It was fitting that I read this now as I’m binge watching Flash because the hero and heroine in this story sort of grew up together like Iris and Barry did (and the similarities end there).  Friends from childhood and high school sweethearts, they were supposed to be together forever.  Until Ethan went off to pursue his dreams of being a hockey player and Lilah stayed back home to pick up the pieces of her life.  Now life seems to have aligned to put them back together again and Ethan is taking no for an answer.

This book is exactly what I expect from a sweet romance.  It had a lot of charm with a small dash of sports.  I even found myself surprised that I didn’t get annoyed with the conflict towards the end.  Normally, I would rolling my eyes at how the heroine was feeling, but the author built that up perfectly and I completely felt what she did.

If you are looking for a feel good story, then look no further.  Low angst, light and cute.  THE GOOD LUCK CHARM has all the sweet and swoony you need this summer.
