“This is what perfect holiday reads are made of!”
~ Under the Covers

Sarah Morgan does it again!  I think I have found my sweet spot with this author’s writing.  THE CHRISTMAS SISTERS is not a traditional romance, but it’s packed full love.  Sisterly love, motherly love, and romantic love as well.  All delivered with the right dose of family drama and a happy ending.  This is what perfect holiday reads are made of!

Suzanne was the only survivor of an avalanche during a climb that killed her best friend and her husband.  A tragic experience to say the least.  And one that left her adopting and raising her friend’s three daughters.  Now, at the twenty fifth anniversary of their death, she’s excited that all three daughters will be back home in Scotland for the holidays, but it’s also a stressful time as each one of them is dealing with a lot of turmoil in their personal lives.

Hannah, the oldest, is the workaholic who has struggled the most with losing her parents and how that affected who she is and how she interacts with others.  Beth, the middle child, is tired of her life as a stay at home mom and wants to find her own identity again.  And Posy, the youngest, has been buried under the weight of responsibility and doing what she thinks is right by her adoptive parents and pushed aside her own personal wants and aspirations.  And it all comes to a head this holiday season.

This book is heartwarming.  You can’t help but care for these characters from the moment you start reading about them.  I loved that you can see the love that all these four women have in their lives.  And how they learn to rely on each other to get through their problems, even after they’ve lived relying on no one but themselves.  It’s about families coming together for each other.  About people giving love a chance and opening up to others.  And it’s all done with the talented writing and storytelling of Sarah Morgan.  It was a great story without much angst.  The snowy highlands gave it the perfect backdrop!

If you are looking for an all around emotional and moving holiday story, then give this one a chance.  It has it all!  Romance, family, some drama, a small town setting.  It felt real and alive.  I can’t wait for the one from this author.
