“[This book] certainly conjures up some fantasies about billionaires.”
~ Under the Covers
In the second book of the Billionaire Bad Boys series, Jessica Lemmon presents readers with a not so typical billionaire hero. Tag Crane is a guy with a man bun and he doesn’t like to wear suits so it’s obvious that Lemmon is trying to veer away from the typical characters of a billionaire. Physically at least.
But to be honest, I didn’t think Tag was all that special compared to the other billionaire heroes that I’ve read. So the author’s efforts to really make him stand out didn’t really work out for me in the end. Tag is a good hero, but I don’t consider him special or different from any others out there.
While I liked the first book in the series, I didn’t fall totally in love with it like I had hoped I would. And the same goes for this book as well. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen and was sorely disappointed when my emotions stayed relatively the same throughout. I liked both Tag and Rachel but I can’t really say that they wow’d be either.
This book is good balance of sweet and sexy and I think it’s a great refresher read because it doesn’t require too much energy. I found it to be a quick, easy read, probably something that you can enjoy on a weekend in the city. It certainly conjures up some fantasies about billionaires. So while this series has been just okay for me so far, I’ll still check the next book out because I enjoy Lemmon’s writing.
