This was a lovely little read. We have two people who both crave quiet and peace for different reasons: she because of her anxiety, which was in no small part caused by the callous indifference of her parents. And he because of his bloody criminal past, which was thrust upon him by bis violently psychopathic father.

These quiet, restless souls come together in this beautifully told Beauty and the Beast style love story. Only, the beast doesn’t need taming, he just needs a place to heal, and the beauty just needs someone to make her feel safe.

Kerrigan Byrn’e gothic writing style was perfect for this story and I recommend giving it a try if you want something quick and lovely to read.
