ARC Review: Spartan Promise by Jennifer Estep

“There’s a lot to love about Estep’s writing here, but my favorite is still the mythology”

I was really excited when I got this book. The first book was one of the better YA books that I read recently and so, I wanted to see if the follow up would be just as good. I am pleased to say that I definitely prefer this series over the original. I just think Rory has something a bit more special and I prefer her personality more. Not to mention, I also like the conflict of this series more. It’s something different and more thrilling in my opinion.

If you’re a fan of Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, there’s a chance that you might also like this series. There’s a lot to love about Estep’s writing here, but my favorite is still the mythology. I love the mix of artifacts and Spartan warriors. It’s just cool to see something that hasn’t really been done before in the genre. I do hope that there will be a lot more books in this series because frankly, I’m kind of obsessed with it.
