“While things do improve as the book goes on, I don’t think it’s my favorite in the series. For me, it was really the safest one because I could predict a lot of what happened.”
~ Under the Covers

SNARED is book sixteen in the Elemental Assassin series. I’ve said in the past that this series continues to get great and while I still stand by that claim, SNARED did feel a little bit different to me. It almost felt like the author tried to return to her roots because the beginning of this book is very basic in terms of the Urban Fantasy style. Gin is a badass heroine and she’s out to take out her next target. For some reason, I felt like we’ve been through this before and it didn’t really shine like I think the author expected it to. It was still very well-written but even the writing felt a little on the safe side in this one.

That being said, SNARED is a very easy read. I’m sure if you’re a fan of the series you’ll devour this book easily. But because this is one of my favorite series, I do have pretty high expectations. While things do improve as the book goes on, I don’t think it’s my favorite in the series. For me, it was really the safest one because I could predict a lot of what happened.
