“…adorable summery contemporary romances that just leaves you with a smile on your face.”
~ Under the Covers

What a delightful surprise this book was!  I’ve had this series on my radar (and on my TBR) since I saw the first book was coming out.  I had plans to save it for my summer reading because it felt like it would be perfect to fit my mood then.  But then I saw the author mention on social media that this couple was her Ariel and Eric and this Little Mermaid fan could not wait any longer.  I had to read it.

I think Ms. Johnson did a great job at giving enough backstory that the reader can jump right into this book as a standalone without any problems.  From the moment I started reading I knew this would be one of those adorable summery contemporary romances that just leaves you with a smile on your face.  SMITTEN BY THE BRIT delivered that!

This was a book where both the main characters had to regroup and rethink their life because things were decidedly going in a different path than what they had always planned.  I enjoyed that journey for both of them a lot.

Mostly though, I just found this to be cute and fun.  It’s one of those books that is a breeze to read and you don’t want to put it down until you figure out how it’s going to turn out.  Getting to that happily ever after for this couple was a fun ride and I’m excited to read more from this author.

  1. I really liked it too. Theo and his stiff British ways until he really lets go, whew! He’s my fav one in the series so far.
