ARC Review: Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland

I was so excited to read this, I couldn’t contain myself.  I loved the premise of this book and was dying to see how Ms. Keeland would work this trope.  I’ve come to expect her to turn tropes on their heads and give us a fresh, new take.  While I enjoyed this story, I don’t think it’s quite a fresh new take.  Nevertheless, it’s entertaining.

Hunter and Natalia are undeniably lovable characters.  You’ll just want to keep reading to find out more about their stories.  Not just together, but individually.  And I think that’s what made the first half of this book a real breeze to read.  I gobbled it up!  But I do think at some point after the middle mark I lost some steam and I wasn’t as glued to the pages as I wanted to be.  Don’t get me wrong, I still couldn’t put this down.  Just not quite with the same addiction.

Hunter and Natalia are both in the wedding party for their best friends.  Natalia lives in New York and Hunter in California.  The wedding marks a drunken one night stand that Natalia thought she could just forget about by giving Hunter the wrong phone number when he asks.

I think Vi Keeland’s writing stands out again in this one.  There’s just something about it that keeps me coming back for more, no matter what.  She is my go to author for a fun and sexy read and she delivered that in SEX, NOT LOVE.  I loved the characters and their chemistry, I just wished the storyline and pacing would’ve kept my attention all the way through the same.  Still, I can’t wait for the next one!
