If you are looking for a unique, darkly twisted story that will completely sweep you off your feet and captivate you… then stop right there and go get yourself a copy of SEA OF RUIN. I can honestly say I’ve never read anything quite like it and I couldn’t put it down.
This is a dark erotic historical romance set in the 1700s and featuring pirates. I haven’t read nearly enough pirate stories but this one was special starting from the heroine. Bennett Sharp is a young female pirate and one of the high seas most wanted. The daughter of a famous pirate himself and an English lady. She’s been drawn to the ocean since she was a little girl and she’s now made it her life. I loved seeing such a strong heroine and that strength only increased as this book progressed and she was faced with some awful situations as she’s trying to search for her father’s treasure and run away from her cheating husband.
So let’s talk about the romance. I’m going to be careful here because I don’t want to spoil things. The intensity and chemistry in this book is raw but vulnerable in a beautiful way. I was falling in love right along with her, even when it wasn’t the sensible choice. Perfectly done!
We also have a “twist” coming in the end. I will be honest here. I had that figured out from very early on and I literally spent half of the book just looking for the clues that would prove me right. While I wish I could’ve been shocked or surprised, I thought it was the perfect way to make things right.
SEA OF RUIN may not be for the faint of heart or easily shocked but it’s a beautiful story and I can’t recommend it enough!

Yeah I don’t read a lot of it too. Just deviate once in a while to it. But this was too original not to try.
Oh neat! My blogging partner, Shari, read a cowboy dark romance trilogy by her last year. I like the sound of this one better.
