With a cast full of dynamic characters and a town with a personality all its own, Savor It by Tarah DeWitt was a cozy, small town romance that will keep you rooting for the happiness and love of each and every character. Sage and Fisher started as opposites, but brought out the best in each other. I loved their growth throughout the story, and loved the journey of so many of these characters. For a feel-good romance, Savor It.

Somehow I know that from now on, the tang of him and salt water will be what I think of when I imagine summer’s taste.

Fuck, he’s perfect. No, it’s worse because he’s imperfect and honest about it and he’s deserving of so much love.

Savor It by Tarah DeWitt is a sexy, small-town romance that will make you dream of long, summer days, late nights with the ones you love, and good food always within reach.
Just when Fisher feels like he’s hit rock bottom – fired from his job on the heels of losing a Michelin star, and struggling to connect with the niece now in his care – he gets one more chance to turn things around: spend the summer overseeing the construction and menu of a new restaurant in Spunes, Oregon. But being an outsider in small-town Spunes is harder than he thought. At least, until he meets Sage. Sparks fly, but it’s the convenient ways they can help each other that makes this a summer neither of them will forget. But summer doesn’t last forever, and Fisher and Sage will either have to find a way to make it work, or savor it while they can….

Everything about this book was just cozy. The characters were really well written and, as someone who grew up in a small town, just felt familiar. Spunes had just enough charm to be quintessential PNW, but was easy to imagine as any Small Town, USA. DeWitt did a fantastic job at building the scene; it was easy to imagine all the attractions Spunes had to offer, from the library and diner to Sage’s animals and flowerbeds.

I loved the dynamic between Sage and Fisher. It wasn’t just small town girl and big city guy vibes, either. They definitely had some obstacles when it came to the lifestyle they were accustomed to, but these two were so much more. As someone who never felt like a winner, Sage paired so well with Fisher. His journey was a humbling one; no longer in charge of a Michelin-star kitchen and just a suspicious outsider to the small town folk in Oregon, Fisher had to find his place both in his new surroundings as well as in his new life trajectory. Both Fisher and Sage made each other feel seen, and they just worked so well together in the story and on paper.

Savor It was a soft, cozy read to fall into, full of great, dynamic characters and a setting you can’t help but wish was real. I loved Sage and Fisher’s romance; it was full of life and learning and adventure (and a little misadventure). This is one romance you will want to savor, but will find it hard to put down.

Something tells me I couldn’t have you pegged in a decade, let alone a few days, Sage. But even I can tell that you’re vast.
