Review: Sacked by Jen Frederick

I’ve had my eye on this series since this first book came out because… THAT COVER!  But I was a bit scared to dive in.  I’ve only read Jen Frederick before when she co-writes with other authors and I haven’t always thought those were for me.  I finally bought all these during a sale and decided to finally dive in and give it a shot.  Surprisingly, this was a sweet new adult sports romance and introduced me to a group of characters that I actually want to continue reading.

Knox is the star quarterback, and he’s also a virgin.  He’s had these ideas since forever about finding “The One” and he even has a special test to make sure he’s right.  And he is all but convinced that girl is Ellie, his teammates sister.  From the very first time he sees her.  I’m not usually big on insta love but I think the author did it in a way that made sense for me.  There is a nice pacing to their relationship and I couldn’t help but find them endearing.

There’s enough chemistry to balance out the fact that this was a bit lower on the steam scale, but I think it made sense for the story.  Nothing was rushed.  At times it could feel a bit boring though.  Nevertheless, the whole team was fun to read about and the storyline kept me interested to keep reading.

SACKED was a cute and sweet read.  I’m always a sucker for the good guy and bonus points ‘cuz he was a virgin and had a twin.  Now I’m just anxiously awaiting the moment I get to read Ty’s story as well.
