Vanessa is Lucie’s best friend.  She’s lived her life following 7 certain rules that should protect her from a bad relationship.  And one of the most important things for her is to steer clear of any resemblance to her past and to violence.

So it doesn’t help that when her best friend Lucie asks her for help getting ready for her wedding in Hawaii, she ends up reconnecting with Lucie’s brother and MMA fighter, Jackson.  Jackson who is all sorts of delicious and used to getting all the female attention on the island but turns out that with Vanessa he has to work a little harder.  Their attraction is instant but so is their bickering.

Their relationship was doomed to be bumpy from the start what with the lies that Jackson kept weaving.  He digs his own grave and then has to slowly work his way out of it.  And while doing that he has to break down Vanessa’s pre-conceived notions on what she is looking for out of love and all the walls she’s put up around her heart.

I love to see a guy doing the chasing so I really enjoyed that in this book.  The whole story is cute and funny while still being very sexy.  I can’t say I enjoyed this more than the first book, I still have a special place in my heart for that couple.  But this series continues to keep entertained with the light tone of the stories and spunkiness of the heroines, not to mention the droolworthy heroes.
