“…Raif and Tyler.  My favorite part of this whole book.  I could’ve read a lot more about just the two of them and kinda wished they could just end up together, period.  Let me tell you, these two are HOT!!!!!” ~ Under the Covers

Well, I’ll start by giving you this disclaimer.  I’m a fan of this series.  Have been since the first book came out and although I had some reservations with that book, I still got sucked into this world of kinky hockey players.  I usually can’t get enough.  I think Ms. Sommerland does a wonderful job at depicting the BDSM lifestyle, and the inter-relationships in each book are usually perfectly coordinated and leave me feeling completely satisfied with the connection and the HEAs.

I received an ARC of Iron Cross last year, and after I started it I had to put it aside because it wasn’t captivating me.  Now, a year later, I’ve picked it up because I have to be caught up to read the next one coming out soon and I experienced the same.  I just felt very blahhh.  I still ended up enjoying the book, but it didn’t hit the mark for me like the others in the series have.  There always has to be that one in any series, right?

Let me try and hit a few points.  The HEA in this book involves 4 people.  I mean, Ms. Sommerland can usually pull off crazy polyamorous relationships and I believe every second of it.  This one?  Not really.  It felt more disjointed and as if there were two romances going on (the two men and the two women) that when they are all meant to end up together in one big happy relationship,. I didn’t think there was enough connection between them all.

My next issue was Laura.  Her as a character, I just didn’t like.  She does plenty of stupid things, she has a lot of hang ups, and I didn’t find her likeable or redeemable.  Chicklet as a character I liked, but no matter how many times you describe her to me in all kinds of ways, she was just not very attractive in my head and kept turning me off.

Then there’s Raif and Tyler.  My favorite part of this whole book.  I could’ve read a lot more about just the two of them and kinda wished they could just end up together, period.  Let me tell you, these two are HOT!!!!! *fans self again*

Tyler though, he’s young and a bit immature sometimes.  I think this was brought out a bit by his relationships with some other players of the team that are still a bit immature.  There was a lot of trouble to be getting into, and fights, and after a while I was over reading all the immaturity in that aspect of the story.

All in all, I enjoyed some things of this book definitely more than others, but I’m still dying to get my hands on Dominick’s book next!
