“…action packed and exciting, as well as having some romance…”
~ Under the Covers

Thank god for #rollbackweek! This is the beginning of my journey into the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong…yes yes I realise I am late to the party, this book was released in 2001, hence my gratitude to #rollbackweek. Because otherwise I fear I may have let this book slip by. This book contains everything I love about Urban Fantasy, a tough-as-nails heroine with a male counterpart I would love to get my teeth into. As well as this, it has a host of other characters I can’t wait to learn more about, as well as introducing us to a new world containing the occasional werewolf.

I am not saying that this book introduces anything new into the UF genre, although this was written 15 years ago, so perhaps it did. Nonetheless, whether people have been inspired by Armstrong or not, I have read plenty of UF which has a similar kind of set up. However, Bitten never bored me, in fact I found it difficult to tear myself away, she has written an action packed and intriguing book that will only leave you reaching for the next book to see what happens next. As a romance junkie, I was also happy to see that there is an element of this in the book, but I was also glad to see that it didn’t take over the general storyline.

If you are looking for an UF that is action packed and exciting, as well as having some romance, I recommend you pick this book up. Although, you may have already done so, I am a little behind the times!

About Kelley Armstrong

Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers’ dismay. Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked away in her basement writing dungeon. She lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and far too many pets.
