“THIS GIRL packs an emotional punch and the depth of love between these characters touches my heart.” ~Under the Covers

You probably know my addiction to Collen Hoover.  I discovered her books this past January and fell head over heels in love with her writing.  SLAMMED, the first book in this series, really touched my heart and dragged all the ugly tears out of me.  So I was extremely excited to read THIS GIRL.

I have to say that although it was an enjoyable read, and we got bits and pieces of new mixed in with the old, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.  There was some rehashing of events, and although it was nice to finally see Will’s POV, for the most part those thoughts and feelings were pretty well understood even just seeing the story from Layken’s POV before.

What I loved was seeing the dynamics between all the characters now that Will and Layken are married.  How their little brothers have to deal with their displays of affection.  How they have to function as a married couple…and the epilogue was great!  Yeah, I teared up.

Still, THIS GIRL packs an emotional punch and the depth of love between these characters touches my heart.  That of course along with the slam poetry.

I will miss this butterflying awesome series.

“Sometimes two people need to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.”

“I held this girl in my arms
She wrapped her tiny fingers around mine.
It was then that I realized.
She was the fusion.
The glue.
The cement that bound all my pieces together.
The piece that seals my puzzle.
The piece that completes my life.
The element that makes me who I am.
Who I was.
Who I’ll one day be.
You, baby girl.
You’re my final piece.”

“I want to be your soulmate, even if I don’t believe in them.”

  1. I am hesitant to read this one just because of what you stated.
I will read it eventually, but will be waiting a while so that I can forget some of it. Lol.
