“If you like plain Jane romances or wallflower books then this is definitely one you should give a try.”
~ Under the Covers
Daisy is the youngest of the McGregor sister and is often known as the “other one”. Plain and easily forgotten at least to those who don’t get to know her. Mason Carlisle has grown up in the same town as the McGregors, but on the wrong side of the tracks. However, he is now former military and a successful business owner. His brother asks Mason to be his wing man to keep the “other” McGregor sister occupied whilst he tries to get the attention of her older, prettier sister. Mason reluctantly agrees, but finds himself drawn to her unexpected wittiness and attracted to her cute and curves.
I decided to give this book a go, despite never having read Natasha Anders before. Mainly because it popped up on my Kindle Unlimited recommendations and because I love a modern day wallflower/plain Jane story. Especially when the heroine has a few extra curves. I am glad I decided to give this a go as although it didn’t blow me away, it was a really cute read with a good heroine and a hunky hero.
I worry that my blurb has made Daisy sound a little pathetic. She wasn’t, she was a little introverted and shy, but once she was comfortable she was witty and a lot of fun. She had some self-esteem issues which made themselves known throughout the book. But, I liked that Anders didn’t dwell on them in such a way that Daisy became irritating. In fact I found Daisy quite relatable and she was one of my favourite things about this book. Mason was great as well, he was one of those almost too perfect heroes. However, he said and did enough stupid things that he didn’t quite cross that line!
I enjoyed the romance between them as well. It wasn’t quite a friends to lovers story as there was chemistry from the start. But their relationship and the attraction between them grew as the book continued rather than being insta-love. Essentially it was a really sweet romance that did have a few very hot sex scenes towards the end.
I will be picking up the next book in this series, it was a good read and I am glad I took a chance and picked it up. If you like plain Jane romances or wallflower books then this is definitely one you should give a try.

Awesome review suzanne!! I have the series on my tbr gr list!! Shared on all my socials!!
This goes directly to my TBR list. I’ve read two books written by Natasha Anders and I absolutely loved them. Both of them were hate to love stories between married couples and they were brilliant. I want to know how she does with some sweet romance, though I love a good angsty story 🙂
Thanks for the review as I love plain Jane and wallflower romances. *running off to one-click* It also has the audio included in KU, I’ll be listening to this today.
Thanks Suzanne for the review
