If you’ve been following the blog for some time you may have noticed that I’m a seasonal reader. So when the temperature starts to drop I go in search for romances that feature wintery themes and often find those in sports romances. I had a craving for a m/m figure skating romance and my friend Stephanie came through with this rec! This was my first time reading Keira Andrews, but it certainly won’t be my last.
Alex and Matt are both figure skaters and Olympic hopefuls. Alex has always been 100% focused on his career and had no time for distractions such as dating. But as much as he thinks Matt is too straightlaced, a grump and probably no fun …fate has other plans. If I could describe this book in one word it would be adorable. There’s some endearing about these two together even when they’re fighting. This starts off a bit as an enemies to lovers but I think it quickly moves past that.
The book deals really well with the sport of figure skating and the pressure the athletes feel. I liked that it didn’t gloss over the sport parts. I also liked that it dealt with both MCs feelings about coming out and their interactions with their families. And then there’s the sweet chemistry between them. They were really cute together!
If you’re looking for a wintery feel book that’s romantic and sweet you may want to give this one a try. I’ll definitely be reading more books from this author in the future.
