“I know there are a lot of fans, so I think I’ve come to the conclusion that this author and I just aren’t a good match in style.”
~ Under the Covers
I’ve had this book on my TBR for such a long time! I know this author has many fans, and I’ve read one other book before by her that I thought was ok but maybe not so much my style. However, I wanted to give it another shot.
THE DESIGN is basically a new adult office romance. The heroine is younger than the hero and they’ve known each other for a while. She’s always thought he was hot but unattainable and he… well, you find out in the book 😉 Now they end up working together after Grayson gives Cammie a position at his design firm before she plans on moving to Paris to prove to everyone she’s got what it takes to live independently.
I guess I didn’t pay attention to the fact this is the second in a series, but it wasn’t a problem to jump right into this one. However, from the start I could tell I was going to have a problem. Mainly, I disliked the heroine. Or not so much dislike, but she’s the type of person that drives me crazy. She isn’t the most mature character and it reflects in her way of thinking, her decisions and her actions. Obviously that goes well with the fact this is new adult, but I don’t think I have patience anymore for that kind of stuff so I quickly realized this would taint my enjoyment of the book.
And in a big part it did. I managed to actually finish reading this book (yay me!) and there were some cute moments, but I probably spent more time just being annoyed and scratching my head at actions that didn’t make sense.
I know there are a lot of fans, so I think I’ve come to the conclusion that this author and I just aren’t a good match in style.

Oh I know I don’t have the patience for that anymore! Thank you.
Its hard for me to read a book to the end if I don’t like the characters,so many books so little time!! ,shared on all my socials.
Totally agree. I was starting to think I was the only one who have problems with this author. Glad to hear I’m not alone in this.
Thanks for your review.
Thanks for the review, I’ve tried a few of her books and I don’t seem to connect with her writing style.
I’m going to pass on this book, thanks Francesca
