True to Shalvisโ€™s style, you get the sexy, sweet, fun and flirty side to the story that just makes this book delicious and easy to devour. ~ Under the Covers

STRONG AND SEXY is the second book of the Sky High series and is a reprint of one of Shalvisโ€™s older titles. As a fan of Shalvis for awhile now, I actually managed to miss this series when I was gloming through her backlist titles, but I am glad I discovered it. While the Sky High series definitely has the charm and the sexiness that all of Shalvisโ€™s books have, this book is slightly different in that it had a bit of romantic suspense in it. I will say that the suspense gave this book an extra kick that I wasnโ€™t expecting.

Shayne Mahoney is the easy-going guy who is unfazed by almost anything, but when he encounters Dani Peterson, he can actually feel the sparks between them explode. True to Shalvisโ€™s style, you get the sexy, sweet, fun and flirty side to the story that just makes this book delicious and easy to devour.

But like I mentioned earlier, thereโ€™s a darker twist to it all. When Dani becomes a witness to a murder, things take a drastic, dangerous turn. The body cannot be found, the crime scene is clean and suddenly there is a gun in Daniโ€™s pocket! Who put it there and why is someone after Dani? As all these questions are explored and addressed, a romance starts to bloom between the nerdy girl and the rebel hero.

While the sweet story is great, what really got a reaction from me were the suspense bits. I was actually kind of freaked out by some moments there as Dani experienced it all. However, I will also say that because those scenes felt so dangerous to me, when Dani and Shayne were together and they promptly forgot about that threat and focused on the romance, I wanted a little more urgency in them. Apart from that though, STRONG AND SEXY is an enjoyable read. I am very much looking forward to the next in the series. I love the dynamic all the characters have and if you havenโ€™t read Shalvis already, donโ€™t miss out on some great books!
