ARC Review: Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway

If messy heroines, artistic angst, and brooding violinists are your catnip, Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway is calling your name. This book throws a living statue with a complicated past at a world-class musician who desperately wants to feel something again, and what happens is all sparks, secrets, and symphonic-level longing. It’s a weird little gem that feels like romance lit fic but with way more steam.

Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway Book Review

You are in for a treat!  So let me give you a quick glimpse of what you’re in for.  Jade Lennon is a girl from the wrong side of town.  After her mother’s death she’s been the bread winner for her household, supporting her siblings.  In order to do that she works a few jobs.  She’s a ticket sales person and bartender at the local theatre, and she stands still in corners for tips.  Yes, exactly like a living statue.  She’s had bad luck with her previous relationships and has now renounced men and alcohol.  Turning her life around and focusing on what’s important.

Then in walks Shane Arthur.  A stranger at first, an undeniable obsession later.  Shane comes from money, he’s always lived his dream of playing violin.  Even was part of a famous quartet.  But there’s always been something missing from his apparently perfect life.  He’s never gotten to “live”.  To feel alive.  And who better than Jade to teach him a bit about that.

There are so many things that stand out about Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway.  The original concept, the flawless and ease of writing, the magic of being transported into the story and feel like you were living it instead of reading it.  But as I’ve always experienced with Ms. Cosway’s books, the characters are it for me.  They’re complex and with many layers.  Layers that you want to get under, whether it’s the hero or heroine.  Characters you can’t wait until you know them completely.  And also as I always experience reading this author, I wanted to be best friends with Jade and at the same time take her man away from her because Shane Arthur is a stud and I want every piece of him.

I fell in love and in lust with Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway.  It doesn’t shy away from the sexy factor but it’s there to drive the story forward.  L.H. Cosway is masterful!  If you don’t pick up another book this week, you have to read STILL LIFE WITH STRINGS.  This book captivated me and accomplished what any great book should do.  It made me get lost in its pages until I didn’t want it to end.  Now I’m just left waiting anxiously for the next time this author gifts us with another story.

Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway doesn’t just give you a love story, it gives you a full-on symphony of feeling. It’s raw, romantic, a little bit weird in the best way, and perfect for anyone who wants their spice with a side of soul-searching. You’ll feel this one in your bones.

FAQ about Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway

Is Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway part of a series?

Nope. Still Life with Strings by L.H. Cosway is a standalone novel. You don’t need to read anything before or after, and it wraps up with all the emotional resolution your slow-burn heart could want.

What’s the vibe?

Artsy, steamy, and emotionally raw. Think musical tension, magical realism, and a heroine who’s a little bit broken but a lot unforgettable.

Is it spicy?

Yes, but in a way that feels earned. It’s steam that hits harder because of the emotional stakes, and the tension builds deliciously slow.
