“…you know exactly how the story will go, that didn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the journey getting there, especially all the hot and sexy parts.”
~ Under the Covers

Shift is an anthology containing 5 different novellas and the complete Bear Bites series and I picked it up as I had a hankering for some more Ruby Dixon after finishing the latest in her Ice Planet Barbarian series. Unlike the Ice Planet Barbarians, this is a Paranormal Romance series focusing, for the most part, on bear shifters, which was another reason I picked this up. I LOVE bear shifters but you don’t see them as frequently as you do the traditional wolf shifter. Which, as this anthology proves, is crazy bear shifters are adorable.

Each novella is set in the same place with a little cross over in the characters, but mostly each could be read as a standalone and if you were feeling wild, you could read out of order as along as you didn’t mind a few spoilers about the couples who mate. I enjoyed each of the books apart from #5, which was actually a bonus book if you buy the anthology rather than getting them individually, as the heroine wound me up. However, I really loved the other 4.

Although from the start you know exactly how the story will go, that didn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the journey getting there, especially all the hot and sexy parts. However, the may be a little bit of an unfair assessment, each book does have it’s unique selling point, one featured a BDSM type relationship, one had a older man/younger woman dynamic, one had a BBW and then there was the sexy librarian. A little bit of something for everyone. Although the one thing they do all have in common; sexy alpha male bear shifters.

I really enjoyed these novella’s, they were fun and sexy and although I can’t see any plans for anything in the future for this series, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up a new release if it came out.
