I love stories that talk about the issues that at certain point come in between a couple and what they have to do to work on their relationship and overcome those obstacles.  This short story was the perfect example of working at a relationship before giving up.Garrett Marshall has been working hard on a case to put a serial killer behind bars.  That and a certain tragic event in their past has put Garrett and Alexis marriage in trouble.  When he misses their anniversary that’s the final straw for her.

But that’s what opens both their eyes to make an effort to make their relationship work and rekindle their desire.

I love the depth of feelings and how real it felt, and the fact that both were trying to fix their relationship.  It wasn’t one sided to try to make the other person turn around.  And of course it helps that I thought Garrett was extremely sexy.
