“…Why did I wait so long?!?!  This book was freaking delicious!  I devoured it so fast I was left wanting more.” ~Under the Covers

Admission # 1:

I first bought this book on kindle because…come on! Look at the cover!  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is PARKER HURLEY! *fan girl squee*

Admission # 2:

I didn’t read the book right away, in fact, as you can tell by looking at that release date….I had it for quite sometime in the I’ll get to it next pile, and never did.

Admission # 3:

I bought this book AGAIN about a week ago when I got the second book for review.  Enough is enough, I was going to read this thing!  But I didn’t have time for a kindle read so I bought the audiobook.

…And then I read it!

…Why did I wait so long?!?!  This book was freaking delicious!  I devoured it so fast I was left wanting more.

First, it’s a trope that I like a lot.  The guy who ends up with his best friends’ younger sister.  *sigh*  And this was done so well.  Maybe it’s because this is actually my first fighter book, and all that alpha maleness was oozing out of Reid (or maybe it’s just the fact that I kept picturing Parker Hurley oozing out all that alpha maleness) but this story worked from the very beginning.

Lucie is a plain Jane, she has a good job, and a crush on a successful doctor (aka Douchebag) who has never even looked her way because she’s so plain.  Then in walks Reid for physical therapy, and they come to an agreement.  He will help her and transform her so that Dr. Douchebag (and this is my name for him, just had to clarify) will notice her and they’ll live happily ever after.  She will work with him to get him in fighting shape before his next fight.  Which could make or break his career.

But of course, things are never that simple.  And as she slowly transforms, and they spend more time together, Reid forgets all about why he shouldn’t mess around with his best friends sister and acts on all those repressed urges.

I have to point out that I loved that Reid noticed her and was turned on by her even before she started getting all dolled up.  Snorts and all.  And even though she learned how to seduce and how to be girly, she still loved her for her.

But let me get back to Reid for a sec…There was just an aura of power that came across from him that was crazy seductive.  He knows what he wants.  He gets it.  Plain and simple.  But also caring and romantic.  Reid is an amazing hero, you just have to meet him (and picture Parker Hurley in your head, just saying).

I CANNOT wait now to read the next one.

PS: Now I’ll have to buy this a THIRD time because you know I need to have that cover with Parker Hurley on my shelf, right?
